Jacqueline Shinfield is a partner in the Financial Services Group at Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP. Shinfield has extensive experience providing advice in respect to Canada’s anti-money laundering (AML) and anti-terrorism financing legislation, the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act and Canadian sanctions legislation under the United Nations Act, the Special Economic Measures Act and under other sanctions laws. In this regard, she provides advice on the provisions of this legislation and its application and interpretation, prepares and assists clients in audits of their AML and sanctions programs, assists in preparing industry-specific risk-based assessments, and assists financial institutions, money services businesses, foreign exchange dealers, securities dealers, accountants, casinos, insurance companies and precious metal dealers, in both the preparation and review of AML and sanctions policies and procedures and in making submissions on notices of violation issued by FINTRAC.

She also advises securities dealers on their compliance obligations under IIROC Rule 1300, Supervision of Accounts.
