ACAMS Cayman Islands Chapter: ACAMS’ newest chapter—The ACAMS Cayman Islands Chapter

ACAMS’ newest chapter: The ACAMS Cayman Islands Chapter

October 2025 marks an exciting milestone for ACAMS with the addition of a new chapter in the Cayman Islands. As a world-leading jurisdiction for financial services and a country with one of the largest contingents of ACAMS members outside of the U.S. and Canada, it is only fitting that the Cayman Islands now hosts its very own ACAMS chapter. The ACAMS Cayman Islands Chapter will bring together local compliance professionals through networking and educational events.

The chapter’s mission is to raise awareness and promote best practices in financial crime prevention, ensuring the integrity of the Cayman Islands’ financial system while fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable community. The ACAMS Cayman Islands Chapter is led by co-chairs Amber Ramsey, chief digital officer at Simur, Sandra Edun-Watler, founder of Edun-Watler Consulting and supported by a board of seven directors from across the local compliance community.

Chapter co-chair Amber Ramsey states: “The launch of the ACAMS Cayman Islands Chapter marks a significant milestone for our financial services community. I’m excited to be part of this initiative that will bring together compliance professionals, promote best practices and enhance our collective efforts in financial crime prevention. This chapter will provide a valuable platform for local networking, education and collaboration, further strengthening the Cayman Islands’ position as a world-leading jurisdiction in financial services.”

The launch of the ACAMS Cayman Islands Chapter will be celebrated at a breakfast event on October 8, 2025, at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Grand Cayman. The event will feature a keynote presentation from Kieran Beer, chief analyst and director of editorial content at ACAMS. Beer has more than 25 years of experience in reporting on financial and compliance issues in print, podcasts, radio and television, including ACAMSmoneylaundering.com and the award-winning podcast series “Financial Crime Matters with Kieran Beer.” In addition to the keynote presentation, attendees will learn about the chapter’s future plans, have the opportunity to network with peers and meet the chapter leadership team.

All ACAMS members in the Cayman Islands are invited to become members of the ACAMS Cayman Islands Chapter. Chapter members will gain access to exclusive benefits, such as local educational programs and networking events, which will be organized by the ACAMS Cayman Islands Chapter on a quarterly basis. For many ACAMS members, this new chapter will provide a closer point of engagement, as the chapter will host activities locally in the Cayman Islands and arrange programming on issues of local relevance. Local chapter membership will allow Cayman Islands compliance professionals to build stronger ties with peers and to continuously update their knowledge of financial crime prevention.

The activities of local ACAMS chapters, including the Cayman Islands chapter, are entirely funded by their members and sponsor organizations, while administrative support is provided by ACAMS. The Cayman Islands chapter leadership therefore invites all ACAMS members to be part of this exciting new initiative. Sign up today for chapter membership and mark your calendars to attend the launch event on October 8.
