On January 16, 2018, ACAMS held an EDGE launch event for its employees. EDGE, which stands for empowerment, diversity, growth and excellence, is a network of diverse professionals who promote the advancement of women in leadership. EDGE’s vision is to empower an internationally diverse group of women and men to network, mentor and participate in professional development programs. Through these programs, the women and men of Adtalem Global Education will develop and broaden an awareness of strength, potential and overall leadership for careers that support lifelong learning with professionals, students and the broader community.
By joining this network of leadership scholars and professionals, EDGE members influence the acceleration of the advancement of women and men working at Adtalem Global Education while fostering a culture of diversity and overall inclusiveness. The program enables participants to help one another to develop the leadership skills and career advancement opportunities that will drive organizational success by sharing information, best practices, education and experiences.
EDGE members are expected to participate in local program events and to offer any assistance needed to drive this network forward. By doing so, members will increase their own personal awareness, leadership skills and professional network. EDGE provides three formal programs throughout the year. This information will then be presented at each location by their local chapter. Virtual/remote colleagues will be part of the ACAMS EDGE Virtual Chapter. Members will be given early notification of all EDGE events and be given priority for event attendance. Each local chapter is empowered to provide additional programs, networking, social or community-based events. The more passion and excitement created at the local level the more programs are likely to be sponsored by the local champions, which will raise awareness of the EDGE community.
ACAMS staff members are thrilled to be part of the Adtalem EDGE-family vision and to participate in a noble cause to not only empower each other, but to serve and empower the communities in which we reside. Please watch this space for updates on future EDGE activities for 2018.
