New York Chapter Update: September 30, 2011

ACAMS New York held a social event on September 27th to celebrate the kick-off of its eighth year as a chapter. Approximately 80 local industry members attended the cocktail reception at The Princeton Club in midtown Manhattan.

The New York Chapter also ushered in the New Year with the election of a new chapter co-chair. Erika Giovanetti, formerly the chapter's communications director, joins Vasilios Chrisos as co-chair in the role vacated by Barry Koch. Koch will assume the role of communications director.

Giovanetti currently serves as vice president of Global Consumer AML Compliance at Citi and has previously held various AML compliance roles at Morgan Stanley, American Express and North Fork Bank. She has been a certified ACAMS member since 2007 and has served on the New York Chapter Board since 2009.

The New York community is gearing up for another fabulous year of learning events, with several big events already in the works for Fall 2011. For more information on the chapter, please visit the webpage at http://www.acams.org/new-york-chapter/.
