Thomas Totton is a senior banking professional with over 30 years of experience in a variety of roles for numerous financial services companies.
He is a qualified banker, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and a graduate from University of Ulster. Recently, Totton received the W S Smith Certificate of Honor from Global IIA for outstanding performance in the CIA examinations. He passed the Certified Fraud Examination and obtained an AML qualification (with distinction) from the International Compliance Association. In addition, he completed the CIMA Diploma in Islamic Finance, obtained his Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA), a Certificate in Information Security Management (CISM) and will be taking his CAMS exam in 2013.
Totton has substantial experience in branch banking, finance, leasing, treasury, international consultancy and in internal auditing. He has operated at various levels in the AIB Group, held senior roles in the Bank of Scotland (Ireland) Ltd. and currently is the general manager/chief internal auditor for Bank Muscat.
In addition, Totton is the vice president of the IIA chapter in Oman and regularly attends and presents at IIA events.
