Mr. Byrne and Mr. Cassara discussed Cassara's work in the Middle East, his training styles and his points regarding the government's involvement in counter-terrorist financing.
John Cassara is a former covert intelligence officer and a Treasury Special Agent. Much of his career was spent overseas where he developed expertise in anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist finance. Since his retirement, he has lectured in the United States and around the world on a variety of transnational crime issues. He is also a consultant for the analytics company SAS.
Cassara has authored and co-authored several non-fiction books and articles. His most recent publication is Demons of Gadara. It is his first novel that revolves around the theme of threat finance.
