Daniel Vieira started his career as an external auditor working for one of the Big Four in Brazil. He joined the banking industry in 1997 as an internal auditor participating in jobs in all areas of the bank, including the international units. One of his projects was to develop and implement the operational risk area in the Brazilian operation of Bank of America and dedicating efforts to develop meaningful indicators for the relevant risks.
In 2005, Vieira joined Banco Itaú where he created the area that coordinates compliance, SOX and operational risk activities for the international units of the bank. In 2008, the bank challenged him to structure the audit department for the USA and Caribbean units where he is currently the Head. He has degrees in Business Management and Accounting. Vieira is CAMS certified and a member of the Florida Chapter.
